Courses for Ethnic Minorities (少數族裔人士課程)

Course Objective 課程目標:

To enable trainees to understand basic knowledge and culture of coffee, and to grasp the elementary skills of coffee and other beverages modulation; and help them secure employment as a
Barista. 

 

Target Trainees 課程對象:

Unemployed or non-engaged non-Chinese speaking eligible employees in Hong Kong who show interest in Barista or related work; and wish to work as a Barista or get a job in related industry.

 

Course Outline 課程內容:

  1. Culture and history of coffee
  2. Types of coffee and coffeebaking
  3. Coffee modulation techniques
  4. Daily operation of a coffee shop
  5. Roles of a Barista
  6. Types of tea leaf and brewing method of scented tea
  7. Modulation techniques of other beverages
  8. Site visit
  9. First Aid & Personal Hygiene
  10. Personal Attributes
  11. Job Search Skills
  12. Course Assessment

 

Entry Requirements 入讀資格:

~ Form Three or above, or Primary Six with at least two years' work experience; and

~ Pass the English entry test; and Interest in Barista or related work; and

~ Demonstrate inclination for employment at the admission interview

 

General Admission Criteria for courses of the Employees Retraining Board (ERB):

~ Eligible employees of Hong Kong (i.e. lawfully employable and not subject to conditions of stay, including Hong Kong permanent residents and new arrivals); and

~ Aged 15 or above; and

~ Meeting the entry requirements of courses, including industry/occupation-specific licensing or statutory requirements.
